A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of going on a hot air balloon ride. Silently soaring over the Wisconsin countryside was nothing less than magical. Suddenly, the farms, forests and homes we take for granted were visible from an entirely new angle. The changing leaves and half-tilled farms brought bursts of color and texture. Most remarkable was the stillness -- when you travel with the wind, there is no breeze at all.
It wasn't all beautiful. The floods we had this spring have left behind ugly swathes of dead soil where nothing was able to grow all summer. But as devastating as the floods seemed when we were going through them, when you look from above, what stands out most now is the ingenuity of the farmers who plowed around the dead spots, and coaxed life from the earth in spite of it all.
Right now, we're in the middle of another flood - this time one of news in the financial markets. It's a scary time…when you're unsure about making any decisions with your business. It's tempting to want to hunker down, pull back and do what's safe and familiar.
But we'd like to encourage you take a deep breath, and take a look from above, if you can. Where are there new opportunities? Is it time to make better use of web strategies? How can your company communicate more effectively? Even in a tough economy, people and businesses still need to buy goods and services…more than ever, your marketing now needs to focus on why YOU provide more value than anyone else.
If you'd like some help with a new perspective, we recommend starting with a Comprehensive Marketing Assessment. We're also working on putting together some new and exciting packages for marketing services that we'll be rolling out this month. -- Christy
